I went to Kindergarten here, Chip Road School. My grandarents, mother's parents, lived across the road and I lived a 1/4 west of there on Chip Road. I'd walk to the 2 room school house with the huge coal furnace in the basement every morning. My mom would watch from our living room window and my grandma would watch from the bathroom when front porch to make sure I got there safe as I had to cross Mackinaw Road to get to the school. I was just 5 yrs old when I did this, that was 1955. Almost all the trees are gone in this picture now, 2019.

I went to school here thru 2nd grade, then they closed it and I transferred to Kawkawlin School. I remember 3 rd grade being very easy for me. Amazing Mrs.Stange taught all those grades in one room !

This was the former Nevins School (District No. 6) in Hampton Township located on the corner of Farley and Youngs Ditch Roads. By 1980, it has been converted into a house.
