Lived in here when this photograph was taken, was 10 years old. My father built this house with his own two hands, and some help from family and friends. There was an old house to the west that we lived in while this one was being built, the new house had better plumbing. My first "paying" job was in the long barn, would help sew the 5 pound bags of potatoes for a dollar. The willow tree had a tire swing, imagine that in 1980. The farm belonged to my grandparents but we farmed it after they retired. It was fun growing up there. Had a three wheeler and a snowmobile, plenty of room to ride it and get it stuck in the mud. I moved out in 1987 and my parents a couple years later. Have not been by to see the changes made. Thank you for sharing this online and helping me to remember a simpler time. Life changes so much. I have gotten married, had children, the children grew and had children, one child passed away not long ago, parents are aging, and sister's moved away decades ago. Our lives change and progress sometimes so much the past is forgotten. My memories of this place hold special value and meaning, it was a time when I didn't worry and was carefree. Once again thank you for posting this.
