This is where I spent my childhood. We worked the 80 acres, trained our horses in that arena to the East of the house, hoed the means twice a year, picked stones, baled hay 3 x year, harvested wheat, oats and corn. Mom drove that school bus for Ubly Community School. Most of those trees are now gone...hated mowing around them. I loved eating from the plumb trees and climbing the elm tree next to the pump house. The front porch overhang is now gone to let more light into the house. It was a good childhood...we worked hard and played hard.
