I grew up in this house from 1st grade (1982) through college; my parents sold it and moved in 2000. This pic is from our time there; that is our station wagon parked under the huge tree in the front yard. From that tree hung a (well-loved) rope and wood swing. The tree was cut to a stump years later. The shed on the far right was there when we moved in and still there when we moved out. My parents purchased the home with 20 acres of wooded land behind it; I believe it has since been divided up, but not certain. We renovated the cement basement to have a family room with built-in bookshelves and a bar. We also excavated an area of the woods immediately behind the house to make a backyard area. My mother planted perennials: hosta near the front porch and tiger lilies in the backyard, which were there when we left. My father cleared a campsite for us off of the easternmost of our two trails through the woods, and carved "camp grund" and the year into a stump there. The east trail (the two-track trail), ended at a hill overlooking a field; just east of the end of that trail my sisters and I planted pine saplings we received at school on Arbor days. Many, fully grown, were still there when we left. The far (southern) side of the field was our property line. Wainwright road was a dead-end dirt road with 6 houses at the time, and there was no cable or water run on the road; we had our own water, as well as an oil tank in the basement which had to be filled regularly. I don't know if any of those things have changed.

To clarify, this address is (or was): 350 Wainwright road, Kent City, Michigan, 49330. It was/is in northern Kent County, Tyrone township.
