Gonyea Farm - South Rockwood, MI. Original Chapman homestead. House was built in 1835 of 12" oak beam balloon construction and still stands today. Many of the out buildings have changed over the years but the main barn remains basically unchanged. The large burr (swamp) oak tree is 300+ years old.
