The Alibi in Troy. East side of Rochester Rd. Between Square Lake and South Blvd.

Alibi @ 6700 Rochester Rd, the oldest restaurant in Troy, open since 1927. By ‘63 they’d already added on to the original farmhouse twice including the front lobby portion. This was also post widening of Rochester Rd — notice how close the door is to the road. As a kid in the ‘80s I distinctly remember waiting in line dangerously close to the cars flying by. This structure was demolished in 1990 and replaced by the current building on the same site. If you go to the restaurant today, the old building stood basically at the far southwest corner of the current property, now part of the parking lot.
