This was part of the Parks' property and located at the SW corner of Dequindre Rd and Parks Rd. It was torn down approx. 10 years ago. They owned the gravel pit located to the South and West. I've heard stories of the lady sitting on her back porch counting the trucks as they left. They were part a certain amount per load. The property was sold and the house sat vacant for quite a while. Some guy that looked like me, but with hair came and loaded the firewood that was left behind before it was all bulldozed. The house its self wasn't in bad shape but they obviously had other plans.
Let me correct myself....Rush property, not Parks. The area there on both sides was orchards and livestock before being sold to American Aggregates and becoming gravel pits.
