Hi there! Thank you for sharing your connection to the photo of 1261 Mayer Rd. It must hold some cherished memories for you. Can you tell us more about what farming activities your grandparents were involved in at that time?

The primary activity was raising and showing registered quarter horses. Over the years they did a little farming (not very successfully!) and had cattle for a few years. The horses always took priority! They close to 30 at one point. A horse barn was built off the front of the large building along the silos and the large building was used as an indoor riding arena.
