Stan Blatti's old place. Was owned by Durst Bros. for many years. Dursts sold the building site in the late ninties but continued to run the land until their retirement in 2016.
Leona Blatti was my aunt(Stan's mom). I was born in this farm house when my dad delivered my mother here during a blizzard with a team of horses and sleigh the week before Christmas of 1941. Milked cows a few times when the Blattis went on vacation. Leona died shortly before her 102nd birthday. The barn burned in the 1980s.
Hi Keith, Do you remember any specific details about the farm or the community during that time period? It's amazing to hear that Leona lived to be almost 102 years old. What changes have you noticed in the area since this photo was taken in 1967? Thank you again for your comment on Vintage Aerial.
The barn burned down about 1985. Stan returned from a Texas University professor job and built a 20 cow milking parlor and started an alcohol plant at a nearby cousins farm.
