Some History on Acton:
Acton developed into a community in the late 1860s.
The first store opened in 1867.
A co-op creamery was started in 1899. It was called the Hope Lake Creamery.
There was a telephone company that operated in Acton from the early 1900s to the 1940s.

The building in the far left corner is the Acton Store. It is still there today but is currently overgrown and can barely be seen from the road.
The building just to the right of the Acton Store is the Acton Telephone Company building which is also overgrown and is not very visible from the road. The address for these buildings is: 55496 CSAH 23, Acton, MN.

The farm just to the right of the store and telephone building is no longer there. It has been gone since before 2008. It appears that the only thing remaining from the farm is the silo. Address: 55229 CSAH 23, Acton, MN.

The farm in the bottom of the photo (with the three large buildings) is still there. Some of the buildings are gone but most are still there. Address: 55222 CSAH 23, Acton, MN. This farm is known as the "Grovedale Farm."

Information on the history of Acton is from: "Minnesota's Lost Towns ~ Central Edition" by Rhonda Fochs.
