Brownsdale, Minn. Southern town view- Brownsdale Coop Assn elevator and mobile home park in the background.
The most popular destinations and memories of so many kids growing up in the area is in this picture—the Brownsdale Roller Rink is the long, white building on the middle of the right side.
This picture is also before the huge cement elevator was built. My family lived in Brownsdale from 1977-1984. My mom still talks ring the constant cement work taking place 24 hours as they built the big cement elevator.
In the summer of 2021 the rink Martha mentioned totally burned down. Such a loss to the community. My uncle, Mark & Vesta Staples built the business known as Mark's Roller Rink in the 1950s. Several decades later they sold the rink to his son, Delmer & Beverly Staples who operated it for several years. Eventually they sold it many years ago. The most recent and final business name was the Rohler Rink.
