Hi Chad! We're glad you reached out about the photo of Frank & Delores Klement in 1987. We'd love to learn more about that time period in Sibley County. Can you tell us what kind of farming your family did in the area? We're also curious to know if there have been significant changes in the landscape since then. They cash crop farmed around 500 acres split between corn and soybeans with some small wheat acreage. Farrowed to finish hogs with roughly 1,000 on site. Most of the buildings are still there from 1987. Grain system has expanded and 2 barns have been added shortly after 87’ and one has been taken down. House was added onto with a garage as well in the 90’s.
As far as sibley county landscape looking back at these old aerials, now many large dairy barns have been taken down or have went into disrepair.
