Billy Joe and Carol Rush, my dad and mom, built this house in 1977. I lived here my last two years of high school. Billy Joe passed away in 1980.

Rock Island Railroad tracks ran left to right in the upper tree line. The train crews could see into our dining room at night when we had the lights on. The engineers would sound the horn as they went by if they saw us eating supper. We raised hogs and a few cattle on this small farm. Also had a catfish pond just left of this photo.
