Bishop's

I remember years ago in the late 40 there was a wooden Memorial for the WW2 Veterans, beside Bishop's. What ever happened to it I do not know and have not been able to find out. It wasn't a very big thing, maybe 10 feet across and 4 or 5 feet top to bottom. I was only a child at the time but that has stuck in my mind for the past 70 years. Is there anyone out there who can tell me anything about the reason this Memorial was done away with???
