Sulpher Springs Road, Hiddenite, NC with Rocky Springs rd to the right-center starting from Sulpher Springs Rd

This is the home of Henry Linney. I do not remember him but I do remember his children and grandchildren, etc. His second Son was our family's neighbor and other sons lived near by on the original property. His first home, a one room cabin with an up stairs (stairs were in the corner) was across the road and down through the woods. It was rare for Black Families to own so much land. These were very honorable, hardworking people. Years later I grew up to work in Funeral Service & in a 13 month period 5 of Mr. Henry's descendants died...it was like deaths in my own family. In the country farming community, I was quite young when I figured out the Linney's were working just as hard as we were to get to the end of the tobacco row to the row of trees on the property border, where we both had mayonnaise jars of water sitting in the shade, ice already melted. When we made it to the trees at the same time, there was always a few moments to visit...Precious Memories!
