My name is Grant Fish, and I grew up in this home. It was built in 1971 by Ashland High School industrial arts teacher Jim Fish. I was only 9 years old at the time, but I remember driving a lot of nails. I even broke my arm when I slipped and fell on the job site!

At the time that this was taken we were operating a lawn and garden equipment sales and service business out of the garage. The building in back was used as a warehouse, and a few years later we moved the business the back building. The equipment that you see between the two buildings is an assortment of lawn and garden equipment waiting to be repaired. The sign in the gable end of the back building is a Husqvarna chain saw sign. Just to the right of the open garage door in front of the car with the open door is a Pepsi vending machine. I believe the price was 25 cents for an 8 oz. glass bottle.

The tree in front of the house is still there. If this same picture were taken today from the same vantage point, the tree would probably cover about half of the house.

Jim passed away in August 2021 from COVID-19. My sister and I undertook the job of completely renovating the house and put it up for sale in July 2022. We hope that the new owners will create memories as happy as ours.
