This is the farm of William F. Burtchin & May Lyle Burtchin and their daughters; Helena, Bertha, & Ruth. After May's death in 1947, Ruth and her husband Clarence D. (Red) Cox purchased the farm out of the estate and lived there until 1974 (Ruth passed away in 1970) when Clarence felt he could no longer keep the property in good condition because of his advanced age. He passed away in 1990 in Spencerville at 88. All four of them are buried at nearby Ft. Amanda State Park.
