White City diner in the NE corner of Rt 20 and CR 11-2. Still there in 1994 but gone now. It was built by Art Gillespie of Lyons and opened in 1933. It was run from 1948 to 73 by Albert Damman of Wauseon. It was made up of three Interurban cars, two end to end for the diner and one at right angles for the kitchen. The cars had carried passengers between Toledo, Pioneer and Adrian MI. A fourth, wooden car was set up next door as the Wagon Wheel Restaurant. It was converted to a private residence later by Richard Laiman who lived just to the east.

See the fourth car here:

This particular building maybe gone but "white city restaraunt" was around up untill like 2015 ish. It sat on US 20 about halfway between 108 and 109. Its still a restaraunt but now its called "us20 diner"

Hi Dustin!
Thanks for sharing your memories of the "White City Restaurant" in Fulton County. It's interesting to hear about how it has transformed into the "US20 Diner"! Since the photo was taken in 1974, would you happen to know if there were any other notable changes in the area? We'd love to hear more about your experiences growing up in Fulton County.

I didnt grow up here, i actually grew up around addison mi, about 45 minutes north of there but my grandparents and alot of family lived around in that area. Another place, called "the country dip" (an ice cream place) that had been there forever closed around 2018. Building is still there though. The old chesterfield school that i believed shut down in 86 just got demolished a few weeks ago. The little rest area on US20 close to the restraunt also closed and is now private property, that happend around 2019. Other then those things the stretch of US20 between sylvania and fayette has stayed pretty much the same
