I understand that this house was just demolished. I lived in this house just east of Germano town in 1991-1992 as a volunteer at Faith Ranch, on which it sat. This photo purports to have been taken in 1992, and the leaves are on, so this image was probably captured just after I left in the spring of 1992. The date 1861 (I think) was inscribed on a stone set in the bricks up near the peak on the west side. The house had been held together with turnbuckles for decades. The first year I and my fellow wranglers lived there, we shared the place with a giant rat that ate up all the rat poison we set out for it and left the empty bowl with a note saying "More please". We never saw it, only heard jumping off our beds upstairs or scruffing around in the walls at night. The next spring we found it stiff and dead in the dead leaves that had drifted into an outside stairwell. Big as a cat. A sad old house. Still, sorry to see it go.
