This is the old Drewes Farm on Ohio St. Rt. 18 just East of Hope Lutheran Church about 2 aerial miles Northwest of Hamler, Ohio. I grew up here. This picture was taken right before the construction of the white machine shed which stands where the old granary stood that we tore down back in the late 1960s. The only buildings still standing as of 8-31-2015 is the house and the old garage just to the right of the house. My father, Eugene Brubaker constructed the wooden fence just to the right of the barn from lumber from our own woods that George Schwiebert cut up into boards in his old sawmill along the B&O tracks East of Hamler. Since the lumber was hardwood, Dad had to soak each nail in motor oil before driving them into the wood.
