This was my home place. It's also where my dad was born in 1951 and grew up there. They still live here, even though it looks much different today.

Does your family still farm on the property today?

My dad owns about 80-85 acres tillable farmland there. He farmed it himself until 1998, then leased it to a friend of the family. It just was not enough land to justify owning the requisite farm equipment. It had 2 different lessors over the years - the first a friend, the last a son-in-law. This year, it’s being turned into an organic farm by another longtime friend and local farmer in the area.
