This is our family farm. I see my Dad's New Idea manure spreader sitting behind the machine shed and also the New Idea mower waiting to be used in the edge of the hay field. I helped plant that large row of trees behind the house. Those trees supplied a wonderful wind break in the winter. Many things have changed; several buildings are gone now. I am still Blessed to own this farm, but I miss scenes like this and the way it used to be.
Hi pcord2! We're thrilled to hear that you have such fond memories of your family farm in Mercer County. The New Idea manure spreader and mower must hold a lot of special memories for you. It's amazing how much things can change over time, isn't it? We'd love to hear more about your experiences on the farm. What kind of farming did you do back then?
