This was the farm that I was raised on. The farm was sold in 1955. The buildings are the same, the 3 rail white fence is gone as well as the fence that kept the fat cattle in the bank barn. We fed 250-300 head of cattle each year, farrowed 25 to 30 Hampshire hogs, and had 20 shropshire ewes. In the grove of trees to the right side of the house the was a cave where we smoked the cured bacon & hams. A walk in chill room and freezer was located in the basement.
little more history Dr. Leo Dunlap and is Wife Frances (Kennedy) Dunlap brought this House and surrounding acreage 650 from Mrs. Crites in 1973 , several years later my uncle bought a 50 more acres to add to the total acreage. After their passing the farm was leave in a estate to The Ohio State University College of Veterinarian Medicine.
