Cedar Creek Ranch Arena. This was on Algire Rd, the first farm on the east side, south of King Corners Rd. I can only find newspaper articles from 1962 to 1965 although it is listed in the 1974 rural directory as a horse arena with no name in 1974. Nothing remains today.
When checking a tax record map from 1970, the ranch was on the West side of the road rather than the east side. The 450-acre property extended as far south as Eckert Road on the south, was bounded by Kings Corners on the north, Algire Road on the east and Schmidt Road / US Rt. 42 on the west. This became the site of the Pebble Creek Golf Club in the 1970s.
In 1964 the ranch was managed by Jerry Strock, a graduate of Michigan State University. According to his engagement announcement, his parents lived on Chevy Chase Rd. in Mansfield.
In an article dated August 6, 1964, the ranch became the location the site of a boys camp called Camp Tahoe. The camp was on a newly-constructed lake in a wooded section of the property and was for a residence camp for boys 8 years of age and older
