My goodness. Does that make me homesick. This was the spring after John passed. I love this place. Not for the physical. This house John had built for a woman he loved. Who had four children. Who survived on welfare. Bear with me...my point is a 57 year old man took this on. I have always appreciated it but now that I am older I understand what an undertaking that was for him. He loved her, he loved us all. He took this task on and passed 18 months later. He would have celebrated his 94th birthday this year. Born March 20, 1920 in Naples, Italy and migrated here aboard a ship when he was 10. God blessed us with John Pelosi I look forward to hugging his neck some day and telling him thank you. Now, what I wouldn't give to walk through that front door and hug that woman sitting in that chair. At his point she was so worried. How would it all be settled? Oh if he had signed that insurance policy how her life would have been different. God in his sovereignty had something different in mind. Who know why. I can tell you I learned none of it matters much. This house is just a house it was the people that I love that made it dear to me. My sister Tina nearly lost her life the summer before just outside this picture. God showed me a miracle that day. Oh how I thank him. Rosa and Dan celebrated their wedding under those trees behind and to the left and behind the pond. What a beautiful day when that man of God became part of our family. Thank you Jesus for Dan Begley in this family. In the picture you see Gary's Olds Delta 88. It was fancy. He and Patsy and my beloved play mates Angel, Glory and Gary lived just across the creek. I am surprised you don't see us kids out playing wiffle ball. It looks like it is still cold. That winter we had many blizzards and the snow stayed piled beside the road well into April. Jery's truck isn't there. He probably hadn't gotten it yet. The duster would have been in the garage so cant say even if anyone is home. Maybe Tina is upstairs watching General Hospital and I am downstairs watching Mash. I hope Mom is frying some chicken, maybe making mashed potatoes and cooking some of that corn from the freezer. I think I can smell the chicken. Thank you Lord what a blessing this place was.
