This is my grandfather, Herman Engel's, farm, on Swihart Road. The old white house was my grandparents' home for 60+ years and I have many memories from holidays and family gatherings there. The farm is located on I believe 149 acres in Mt. Pleasant, Chartiers and Cecil Townships. It was in the family for at least three generations that I know of. My grandfather wasn't a full time farmer, and rented the pastures and cornfields to a neighboring farm. Herman, a WWII vet, died in 2005. He loved his farm and never desired to live anywhere else. My grandmother, Edna, died in 2013. The farm is now owned by their son, Brad.
