This is where I grew up, five miles from town. 1970-1989. Learned to ride my bike, drive tractors and cars, spent countless summer days mowing, listened to hoot owls, woodpeckers and a rusty windmill. Cottonwood & apple trees, pigeons in the barn. Cats with their kittens under the porch and in the garage. Uneven floors and crazy loud thunderstorms. Didn't know it at the time, but this is where I learned to love and the importance of family. It's also where I learned to be a friendly neighbor and gracious friend. I found that we had more than some, less than others and always enough. I grew a lot in those 18 years and this humble farm provided everything you'd expect from a loving home.
