This is my farm, on Tower Road in Orange, Virginia. It's been in the family for multiple Generations going back to before Revolutionary War, possibly as far back as the 1640s. 1644 is when my original ancestor landed on the Potomack River somewhere near today's Colonial Beach. They migrated West and settled in Orange in this area. No one ever bought the farm, my ancestors got it from the Native Americans.

My grandfather and his brothers and sisters grew up there. One of his sisters, Resa, Luther entire life there. Her second husband left it to my father and my father to me. Most of the outbuildings are gone now and there are some other changes, especially the growth of the trees.

A picture of Vulcan Farm in 1975 when Resa McGehee lived there as she had all her life.
