This farm has been in the Stapelmann family since about 1954. My grandparents, Clarence and Phyllis Stapelmann, bought the farm back then and raised their children there. Duane, Judy, Janet, Nancy, Gordon, and Jeffrey grew up on this farm while they attended Mount Horeb schools. My father was Duane. Jeffrey now owns the farm. In November 1990, the barn burned down, taking all of the milk cows and the future milk calves in the fire. Many family Christmas get togethers were spent in the farm house that was torn down around 2011. Time had taken its toll on the house and the foundation. My Uncle Jeff has built a new house where the farm house stood. The memories will always remain through stories told in the "time warp shed". Jeff raised his two sons, Joshua and James (aka Jimmy) on this farm, and now watches his granddaughters play in the yard, with my Aunt Janet visiting often. This farm will always hold a special place in my heart!
