My great-great-great grandfather, John Day, owned this farm in 1855, according to a map I found. His son, Tom owned it in 1895. His grandson Joe built the barn shown in the aerial. Buildings on the this side of the road are now gone, except for the footings of the barn. There is a rock outcropping on the farm called "Day Rock" and is listed as a physical feature "pillar" in Iowa County and appears on some atlases and maps.
