This farm appears to have been located roughly at the SW corner of York House Rd. and Burr Oak Dr. today; view is looking SE. The farm is gone and the land is now a subdivision. York House Rd. is visible along the bottom of the photo.
The Midlane Farm Country Club was the original name of the 7,000+ yard, 18-hole golf course that opened May 1, 1964, located at 4555 W. Yorkhouse Rd. (formerly Townline Rd.) in Wadsworth. The club also included locker rooms, riding horse stable, tent theater, swimming pool and trap shooting. According to the 1907 plat map, the property was owned by T. C. French in Section 2 of Warren Township. The club included a dining room, bar and lounges that were originally part of a quonset-type dairy barn (left). In 1968, a group of individuals purchased Midlane for more than $1,000,000 and changed the name to Midlane Country Club. In 2007, a 61 single-family housing development was created and is woven throughout the golf course.
