Two opposing gas stations, neither of which are still in business. The trailer is gone and the gas station on the near side of the highway is torn down. The Sonoco gas station building is still standing.
This Sunoco building is a former DX station. The building style and the curved pole for the Sunoco sign give it away. DX was purchased by Sunoco in the 70s and subsequently rebranded to Sunoco.
A Sunoco Custom Service station, 9776 Indiana State Road 9, Hope, Indiana. View looks west. gman, you are correct in your statement about this being a former DX station. I have always been a 'fan' of both the Sunoco and DX brand service stations!!
