This is the farm where I grew-up. It is a Century Farm and my sister lives there now. Unfortunately, these buildings are no longer there. They were destroyed in the tornado that hit Woodward 5 years ago. My brother and I call their new house 'The Palace'. My Grandfather was born here.
The biggest challenge was the quarter mile lane, especially in the winter. Often in the 50's the only way in was walking, or riding in the manure spreader behind the tractor. Very happy day when we got a scoop for the tractor.
Our farm was in the middle of the section. The kids on either side were 1/2 mile away, but we thought nothing of the hike to meet each other to play. Often we would gather @ one house initially, then trek back and forth. We were frequently out of touch with the parents for most of the day. Simpler times then.
