This is the farm where I grew up, about 3 mi. from Guthrie Center, IA. Farm belonged to Boyd & Naomi Rutherford. Daddy's brand for his black angus cattle was 4-dot-R, this signified (4) daughters, (Kathy, Kay, Ramona, & Sheryl) who he hoped would one day co-own his farm. My cousin, Doug Rutherford spent many a summer here, filling in as Dad's only "son". More than one daughter, (or boyfriend) backed into the windmill!
