The large building is the former Caribou Hotel. It is currently home to several offices. The Collins sawmill is in the upper right of the photo, with Collins Pond behind it.

It's the Vaughn House. Not completely sure which incarnation this is though.

looks to be in the early 60's on the right side was a door to the bar I use to go with my grandmother can't remember the ladys name that was bar tender but she was a friend--I use to have Shirley temples I wasn't old enough for the real stuff until 63 so I am guessing real early 60's

This is the Hotel Caribou...built in 1956 to replace the last Vaughan House that burned down on New Year's Eve 1954.

The two buildings at lower right are (L) Masonic Bldg (A & P Grocery and current location of SW Collins Kitchen showroom) and (R) Spaulding's Hardware. To the upper right of Spaulding's is the former Aroostook Valley Railroad Station. It appears that by 1965 it was the Agway store. The street at the top left is Grove St where many of Caribou's oldest homes are.

About 45 years ago my mom worked at the Hotel Caribou as a cook, she used to bring us home some good old french fries and fried clams,

Was the A & P by the hotel at one time and we're was the I.G.A. Been so long it's hard to remember.. I remember Monsons store, Cyrs gas station and Cyr's Taxi. I remember the fire station, Rexall drug,Log cabin restaurant,Rudy theater, Caribou theater, Donnleys store, I heard about a fire, is this all gone?
