oh yes that is my house with the big tree , the dormer you see was my bedroom. The dance hall was directly across the street. The owner Mr. Valaire Daigle died of a heart attack in my moms arms. She tried to save him but was not sucessfull.

The location marker is now at the exact spot, to the right of my house was Mr. Edwin Ouellette. on the corner of star barn rd. the My house is the one with the dormer and the tree. My Dad Paul Dumas worked for a long time at Sylvio Paradis gas station in Frenchville. across from my house was Valaire Daigle dance hall. next to it was Alberie Tardiff house. My friends who lived there were Joe & Louis Tardif. next to them was Rosettes run by Rosette herself...Across from Rosettes was Leo Lavoie, they still live there, visiting them a few years ago while in the area. After my childhood raising in aroostook county i am careful when i visit, I only go in July cause i am petrified of snow a feel fairly safe in July..lol

That is the place where we had our wedding reception, Renos lobster house in 1975

yes my uncle gerald got married there to it's been a while

This photo brings back so many good memories of growing up in Frenchvile in the house between Rosette's Restaurant and Valaire Daigle's Restaurant and Dance Hall. Had lots of fun with all the neighborhood children in both summer and winter. My dad was always busy in his garage. There's a little figure in front of the house and I thought it might be me, since I would have been five years old when the photo was taken, but I can't recall that big truck in the yard. WOW! Things have changed, very different now.

I remember the restaurant, though I don't remember ever eating there. I also remember Charlie Dumas and the house he grew up in. We were friends until his family moved.

Val's Restaurant on the sign.
