Charles Crile farm on the south side of Rt 18 just east of Hawley Rd, Wellington. One of the oldest farms in the county, the land was cleared by Howard Dorchester in the 1790s and expanded later by Frank Sutliffe. The Criles bought the farm from F.L. Cooper. Criles ran a Holstein dairy farm and used the grain from his other farm on Jones Rd to feed the livestock.
Featured as Mystery Farm number 17 by the Wellington Enterprise on March 22, 1956. Search the Lorain County home page for "mystery" to see other farms.
