Shell station on the northwest corner of Ford and Haggerty roads, was built a couple years before this photo in the early 80's and stood for 35 years until it was razed in 2015. A new building with a T-Mobile and Qdoba restaurant now occupy this corner. 41420 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187

As mixdenny stated, Hardee's on the north side of Ford road just west of I-275 and near the northeast corner of Ford/Haggerty. Hardee's opened in 1983, closed in 1997 and became a Tim Horton's. It is now Tim Horton's/Coldstone Creamery. Just to the right out of frame is a Bob Evans that still stands. Behind the restaurant where the semis are parked is now home to three different hotels; Comfort Suites, Baymont, and Fairfield Inn. 41276 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187

Again, homes on the same strip as the previous photos #8-10, north side of Ford Road just east of Lotz. All were razed in the late 90's to make way for the development of a Sam's Club and Walmart stores. These homes sat nearly exactly where the entrance to the stores' parking lot now is. Approximately 39680 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187

Wider shot of the previous photo (#8), this home and business sat on the north side of Ford just west of the beginning of the overpass. Both were razed in the late 90's to make way for development of a Walmart and Sam's Club stores in the acreage behind the house. Both buildings sat at what is now the southeast corner of the Walmart parking lot. Approximately 39450 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187

North side of Ford road just east of Lotz Road, which you can see behind the trees at the top left of the photo. All the homes and businesses along this strip on the north side of Ford (including the home facing Lotz at the top of this photo) were razed in the early 90's to make way for the development of the Walmart and Sam's Club stores in the acreage behind the homes. This home sat in what is now the southwest corner of Sam's Club parking lot; the building at far left used to sit on the northeast corner of Ford and Lotz roads. Of note: the parking lot for the infamous Center Stage event venue can be seen at the top left corner of the photo, it would close a mere four years after this picture was taken in 1989. Approximately 39860 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187

North side of Ford Road just west of Hix, this building was was constructed in 1965-66 and originally included a large U-shaped entry drive to the main office. Once the overpass on this section of Ford Road was built, the frontage was decreased forcing the short entry sidewalk seen above and today. The lot has been occupied by Capital Iron & Metal and is now Michigan Truck Parts. The main office building still stands but underwent major roof renovations and further additions to the back of the building in the late 90's. 38658 Ford Rd, Westland, MI 48185

North side of Ford road just west of Hix Road. The white building at right was built in the early 1950's and appears to have been a barn for a home that originally sat directly across Ford Road. The barn appears to have had access from both Hix (to the east where the "porch" faces) and Ford Road to the south, and was originally planted with many trees, possibly was used as a small orchard. By 1963 the trees were removed, the U-driveway was added, and the lot was transformed into the Barnes Fence Company. In the late 60's the banquet hall (seen above) was built in the lot just to the east on the corner of Ford and Hix. At some point the business became Barnes Sales and was open for more than 55 years when it was razed in 2020. The lot remains completely empty. The banquet hall was razed in the early 90's and a McDonald's was built in its spot that remains today. Of note: construction of the Sportway Amusement park can be seen just to the west (left) of the property, it opened later this same year (1985). 38440 Ford Road, Westland, MI 48185

Four childhood friends (and WWII veterans) returned home from the war and decided to start a concrete construction block company. In 1949, they purchased nine acres on the north side of Ford Road west of Hix and construction began shortly there after. In 1952, National Block and National Ready Mix Inc. opened. They are still going strong -- the company has passed through three generations and has served the metro-Detroit area for more than 70 years. The original, unique mid-century front office building at the street still remains although it is now painted a darker color. Its street address has remained the same even though the Ford Road overpass was built in the early 1980's (seen here) and the business now technically sits on the service drive (Frontage Road). 39000 Ford Rd, Westland, MI 48185
