Almost looks to me like the second gas station from the foreground might be the Mineral Market now, but there's probably better ideas out there. The signs read "Shell" on the first gas station foreward, the one behind says "Chevron" and "Champion" the truck in front of the Shell is a Carnation milk truck.

Sign says "Peterson's Motel" and "TV". How cool! Someone just got enterprising to save the old farm, or what?

Sign says Future Home of St Paul Lutheran church and the St Paul Lutheran church has served there since 1891, they say. Their current address is 379 State Route 505 so I suppose that's likely this spot. Their "rise up and build" tag line proved itself well, they have built a very recent large church so I suppose they might have moved again but online tax records show no history of sales for their current address so it hasn't sold in quite a long time.

I saw towers like this in the Thurston County photos too, probably 5 of them. I'm trying to figure out what it is. Blockhouse? Home made fire lookout? We most recently saw one about 7 years ago down by Military and 151st in Spanaway at someone's house there but we never knocked and asked like we wanted to, figuring current owners might not have known. I'd love to know about it if anyone has any comment.

Corner of Hwy 506 and the Winlock-Vader Road, I think. Now called the Mt St Helen's Grocery.
